Cyle Metzger

Artist Biography:
Cyle Metzger grew up in southern California. He moved to Vermont in 2004 for undergraduate study at Bennington College, then to Baltimore Maryland in 2008 for his MFA at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Cyle currently teaches art and Design at George Mason University and Towson University in DC and Baltimore.
Cyle is also transgender; born a girl, but prefers to present as male, and most of his work springs out of the intersection of gender difference and binary structures, matters of privacy and personal agency, and contemporary art discourse. In addition to his studio work, Cyle spends significant time writing about these ideas, and has applied for doctoral programs in art history to unpack that intersection even further.
